River State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, said on Sunday that the insecurity in the state began under the past administration.

Wike said this at the thanksgiving administration at Saint Andrew's Anglican Church, Okrika out of appreciation for Patience Tam-George, the octogenarian mother of the Commissioner of Information, Dr. Austin Tam-George, who was held prisoner for six days by criminals.

He particularly said killings and kidnappings in Rivers happened unabated amid the administration of

 previous governor Rotimi Amaechi.

Security organizations had in July assembled a peace conference amongst Wike and Amaechi over the strained security circumstance in the state.

Spoken to by the Secretary to the state government, Mr. Kenneth Kobani, the governor said, "We are glad that our mom, Ma Patience Tam-George, did not kick the bucket in the hand of the ruffians. The issue of security difficulties we are confronting was acquired, it is not from us. That is the reason the governor has urged the security organizations to battle crime.

"The governor has zero resilience for crime. The Amnesty program, which is likewise one of the methodologies, is to give the religions another opportunity."

Wike approached ministers to advise the adolescents to avoid viciousness, even as he ordered the general population of the state to bolster the endeavors of the state government in the battle against crime.

Responding, the state Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Chris Finebone, depicted the case as over the top and silly.

He said, "That is the most unbelievable story to tell. Anyone who lived in Rivers State when Amaechi was governor concurred that Amaechi gave his everything to battle insecurity in the state.

"It is conceivable that Kenneth Kobani (illustrative of the governor), who had gone on self-banish, did not come down to Rivers to encounter the peaceful and safe Rivers State then.

"He (Kobani) never lived in Rivers amid the time Amaechi was governor. Thus, he talked from the edge of absence of experience."
