 Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH is a tertiary institution owned by the Cross River State Government, which was established in August, 2002. It was formerly a polytechnic, it's the outcome of the merger of 3 tertiary institutions: The Polytechnic Calabar, Calabar, The College of Education, Awi, Akampka, and The Ibrahim Babangida College of Agriculture, Ovonum, Obubra.
 Presently CRUTECH has four campuses in Cross River state, they are located in Calabar which is Cross River state's  capital, Obubra local government, Ogoja local government and also in Okuku in Yala local government, the campus in Akamkpa was lost in 2008.

ABOUT CRUTECH'S CREST
 The shield in CRUTECH's crest represents strength, which shows the power of science and technology to enhance quality human life and maintain a balance between man and his environment.
 The blue-white check board represents the quest for knowledge and research, which Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) hopes to inspire in it's staff and students to make them excel and contribute to the growth and development of the society.

 The motto of CRUTECH is; Technology for human advancement.

 The vision of CRUTECH is to be a Centre of Excellence in Technology with highly qualified staff and excellent teaching and research facilities for production of graduates that can compete with their peers anywhere in the world.

 The mission of CRUTECH is to produce well trained graduates and researchers in Science and Technology equipped for active participation in socio-economic development of the State and Nation, Nigeria.

CRUTECH'S PHILOSOPHY
 Development in it's various ramifications is education-driven and, in particular, national development and the capacity to produce the requisite goods and services that meet the needs of the citizens of a nation, state and community, could be fostered thriugh carefullly packaged and coordinated programmes of education that focus essentially on Science and Technology.
